Position Summary | Provides clerical and general assistance to facilitate the effective processing and maintenance of all departmental files, records, and requisitions. Duties may include a combination of answering telephones, bookkeeping, typing or work processing, office machine operation, and filing. Provides for an organized flow and works with highly confidential information. | | | |
Education | High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. |
Experience | 1 year of clerical or medical terminology experience is preferred. |

Responsibilities | Provides accurate and efficient clerical support to assigned area. | Provides assistance to patients, guests, colleagues, medical staff, and volunteers. | Responds to inquiries via mail, e-mail, telephone calls or walk-ins. | Answers calls using positive telephone etiquette by identifying oneself and department/work area, sounding pleasant, being courteous and helpful to the caller. | Assists in gathering information for the preparation of reports and projects. | Transmits information or documents to customers using computer, mail and/or fax. | Gathers patient information utilizing all available resources. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members. |
