Position Summary

Installs, repairs and maintains wiring systems and electrical apparatus necessary for building operation and patient care.

High School Diploma, GED or related vocational training is required

Three years of electrical experience is required

Satisfactory completion of a recognized four-year apprenticeship program is desired

Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and lift. Must be able to tolerate variable amounts of standing, walking and/or sedentary activity. Must possess manual dexterity to handle and manipulate equipment and appliances. Must rotate different hours, shifts, and/or assigned areas, as well as be called in during emergencies to provide adequate coverage.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.

Possesses strong technical aptitude and product knowledge.

Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty.

Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion.

Installs, repairs and maintains electronic/electrical apparatus, both stationary and portable. Installs wiring for new services or in remodeling projects.

Completes work requisitions as assigned.

Conforms to all electrical codes.

Inspects and performs safety tests on electronic systems, emergency generators alarm systems, communication systems, energy management systems, medical equipment, HVAC systems and/or other related systems.

Reads and interprets drawings, sketches and prints.

Assists with work related to other trades.

Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed.  Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate.

Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. 

Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality.  Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members.
