Position Summary

Provides advanced technical support for system software and develops reports and utility applications as required. Modifies existing software and configures new system software to provide additional functionality required by the affiliates. Demonstrates advanced working knowledge of the application and how it interrelates to the operating system of the various computer platforms. Utilizes the tools of the application and the operating system platform to tune the processing and to manipulate and restore files and/or data structures as required. Serves as a mentor to less experienced Technical Analysts.


Education

Associate's degree in Computer Science, Business or related field is required.High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in networking, IT architecture, report writing, information security, telecommunications, or other related information technology field may be accepted in lieu of an Associate's degree.


Experience

Five (5) years of experience in networking, IT architecture, report writing, information security, telecommunications, or other related information technology field is required.(This experience level is required in addition to the experience that would be required in lieu of education if colleague does not meet the Associates degree requirement.)

Responsibilities

Researches, plans, installs, configures, troubleshoots, maintains, upgrades, and provides support for complex software systems while complying with all Information & Technology Services (ITS) standards and procedures.Modifies existing software and configures new system software to provide additional functionality required by the affiliates.

Utilizes the tools of the application and the operating system platform to tune the processing and to manipulate and restore files and/or data structures as required.Troubleshoots and resolves highly complex hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration.

Conducts advanced technical research on upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system.

Prepares detailed flow charts and diagrams outlining systems capabilities and processes.Selects among authorized procedures and seeks assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise.Researches and recommends hardware and software development, purchase, and use.

Maintains data integrity and backups and ensures that retention policies are followed.Records and maintains user access and security.Writes and maintains system documentation.Documents system problems and resolutions for future reference.Provides evening, night, and/or weekend on-call support as scheduled.Serves as a mentor to less experienced Technical Analysts.Manages Tier 1 ITS projects.


Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed.  Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate.

Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. 

Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality.  Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members.
