Position Summary | Facilitates and develops relationships between hospitals, physicians, medical groups, clinical leaders, and other healthcare providers within assigned territories. Routinely and directly engages physicians, practice leaders, hospital administrators, and other clinical leaders to promote HSHS programs, services, physicians, and clinical capabilities. Serves as a liaison between HSHS and community providers to strengthen referral relationships, identify growth opportunities, address service and access barriers, and improve the overall provider experience. Develops and executes territory outreach strategies that support organizational growth objectives, service-line utilization, continuity of care, and provider engagement. Success in this role is measured through physician engagement activities, relationship development, territory management, and contribution to market growth objectives. | | | |
Education | Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Healthcare Administration, Clinical Healthcare Discipline, or a related field is required. |
Experience | 5 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare sales, physician relations, business development, marketing, provider outreach, relationship management, clinical practice, or a related healthcare field is required. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record is required. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, medical practices, hospital leaders, and other healthcare providers. | Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. | Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and issue-resolution skills. | Ability to analyze referral, utilization, market, and provider engagement data to identify trends, opportunities, and support strategic decision-making. | Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage an assigned territory independently while balancing multiple priorities. | Knowledge of healthcare operations, physician referral processes, provider engagement strategies, and business development principles. | Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is preferred. |
Responsibilities | Promotes HSHS hospitals, medical groups, physicians, service lines, and clinical capabilities to physicians, healthcare providers, hospitals, and other community partners within assigned territories. | Develops and maintains strong relationships with referring physicians, practice managers, clinic staff, hospital administrators, and other healthcare providers through consistent outreach and in-person engagement. | Serves as the primary liaison between HSHS ministries, Physician Enterprise, specialists, administration, regional hospitals, and community providers to strengthen relationships, facilitate communication, and improve continuity of care. | Develops and executes territory outreach strategies designed to increase provider engagement, referral relationships, service-line utilization, and market growth. | Identifies, investigates, and helps resolve referral, scheduling, access, communication, and operational barriers affecting referring providers and their patients, escalating issues as appropriate. | Supports the successful onboarding, introduction, and market integration of new physicians and providers through outreach planning, provider introductions, engagement activities, and panel development strategies. | Educates physicians and other healthcare providers regarding HSHS services, physicians, new programs, clinical capabilities, and patient access resources. | Partners with hospital leadership, Physician Enterprise, service-line leaders, operations, and marketing to align outreach activities with organizational priorities and strategic growth initiatives. | Analyzes referral patterns, provider engagement, utilization, and market activity to identify opportunities for growth and improve territory performance. | Maintains accurate documentation of physician interactions, outreach activities, referral opportunities, and market intelligence utilizing designated systems and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools. | Monitors activity metrics and market performance within assigned territories and provides leadership with reports, trends, recommendations, and insights that support organizational growth objectives. | Coordinates physician engagement activities, community medical education opportunities, provider introductions, and relationship-building initiatives that strengthen awareness of HSHS services and enhance long-term physician partnerships. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed.
