Position Summary | Maintains adequate stock of anesthesia drugs and supplies in various departments throughout the hospital where anesthesia services are provided. Coordinates distribution of anesthesia monitoring and support equipment. Performs moderate designated laboratory testing procedures and provides accurate documentation of results. Assists anesthesiologist with providing clinical services to patients. | | | |
Education | High School Diploma or equivalent is required. |
Experience | 1 year of medical field experience is preferred. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. |

Responsibilities | Monitors and ensures replenishing of anesthesia, perioperative, and procedural area inventory items. | Provides monitoring and support equipment and supplies to anesthesia and perioperative staff while procedures are is in progress. | Performs and documents routine cleaning and outdate checks for anesthesia machines, supply carts, and cabinets within the perioperative setting and procedural areas. | Cleans and disinfects reusable anesthesia and perioperative equipment and environment. | Demonstrates expertise in calibration and troubleshooting of equipment and monitors. | Retrieves equipment and monitors after patients are transported to inpatient units. | Assists anesthesia providers in preparation of patient care and anesthetic services. | Prepares equipment, supplies, and procedural areas outside of the perioperative setting prior to offsite procedures. | Performs clerical work as necessary. | Transports patients safely and efficiently with attention to patient comfort and modesty. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Reduces the risk of healthcare acquired infections through compliance with current CDC hand hygiene guidelines and facility policies including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. Utilizes standard precautions during patient contact and when handling contaminated materials. Demonstrates compliance with National Patient Safety Goals. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains excellent interpersonal communication with the health care team colleagues. | Emphasizes a holistic approach to patient care-attending to body, mind, and spirit while upholding ethical principles with patient care and all other aspects of work. Actively involves the patient and family in decisions about care. Promotes quality care by participating in organizational councils/committees and/or support of related process. Documents services provided to patients in the electronic medical record in accordance with policy and requirements. |
