Position Summary | Plans, supervises and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum that creates an environment to promote the developmental needs, health, and safety of the children enrolled. Interacts directly with the children and maintains strong communication with the parents/guardian. | | | |
Education | High School Diploma is required. | Associate's degree in child development or related field is preferred. |
Experience | 1 year teaching experience is preferred. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Fingerprint Background Check prior to first day is required. | Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 months is required. | Wisconsin Registry, Inc level 3 certification within one year of hire is required. | Shaken Baby Prevention Training Certificate or Abusive Head Trauma Training Certificate required by end of 1st day in department is required. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members.Abides by all safety requirements including wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and demonstrating proper hand hygiene.Friendly and service oriented.Demonstrated customer service skills.Flexible with schedule and work assignments. |
Responsibilities | Supervises children at all times and interacts with children frequently. | Plans and implements developmentally appropriate curriculum according to the Wisconsin Model of Early Learning Standards. | Tend to individual needs of each child including assisting with diapering, toilet need, nutritional needs and medical needs. | Completes documentation, including attendance, goals, lesson plans, calendars, assessment tools, accident reports and medical logs to satisfy licensing requirements. | Cleans and sanitizes classroom and restrooms. | Fosters good communication with families both written and verbally. C | Complies with Youngstar and Licensing requirements. | Performs daily checks and reports safety hazards. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline.
