Position Summary | Under direct supervision, provides basic technical support for system software and develops reports and utility applications as required. Modifies existing software and configures new system software. Demonstrates a basic working knowledge of the application and how it interrelates to the operating system of the various computer platforms. Utilizes the tools of the application and the operating system platform to tune the processing, and to manipulate and restore files and/or data structures as required. | | | |
Education | Associate's degree in Computer Science, Business or related field is required.High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in networking, IT architecture, report writing, information security, telecommunications, or other related information technology field may be accepted in lieu of an Associate's degree. |
Experience | One (1) year of experience in networking, IT architecture, report writing, information security, telecommunications, or other related information technology field is preferred. |

Responsibilities | Researches, plans, installs, configures, troubleshoots, maintains, upgrades, and provides support for basic software systems while complying with all Information & Technology Services (ITS) standards and procedures.Modifies existing software and configures new system software to provide additional functionality required by the affiliates.Utilizes the tools of the application and the operating system platform to tune the processing and to manipulate the restore files and/or data structures as required. | Prepares detailed flow charts and diagrams outlining systems capabilities and processes.Researches and recommends hardware and software development, purchase, and use.Maintains data integrity and backups and ensures that retention policies are followed.Troubleshoots and resolves basic hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration.Selects among authorized procedures and seeks assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise.Writes and maintains system documentation.Records and maintains user access and security.Documents system problems and resolutions for future reference.Provides evening, night, and/or weekend on-call support as scheduled.Conducts basic technical research on upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed.
