Position Summary | Carries out those duties necessary for the ongoing implementation of all programs in nursing which is consistent with the mission of the college. Contributes to scholarly endeavors and active leadership within the college. Mentors other faculty and participates in professional organizations. | | | |
Education | Doctorate degree required. |
Experience | Four years post-secondary teaching experience required. | Four years teaching at the Assistant Professor rank preferred. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice is required. | Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license required for master’s Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) track. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Demonstrates effective leadership in teaching, service and scholarship. | Effectively coaches and delivers constructive feedback. | Ability to plan and drive projects to successful completion. | Excellent collaboration and team building skills | Ability to develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures. |
Responsibilities | Conducts assigned tasks negotiated in the workload agreement including but not limited to classroom and/or clinical coursework, evaluation of student performance, committee work, recruitment activities, research projects and/or other scholarly endeavors. | Advises assigned students across programs to enable them to negotiate the college environment toward successful acquisition of the degree. | Mentors and leads faculty in educational assessment related to the program development, evaluation and evidence-based practices. | Ability to develop, implement and evaluation policies and procedures related to the functioning of the faculty. | Participates and documents personal and professional development and recognition at the local, state, or national levels for contributions made to the profession and/or community. | Assumes a leadership role while working with faculty and administration in the development, implementation and evaluation of all programs including the philosophy, goals, curricular offerings and evaluation plan. | Seeks chairmanship on faculty committees to facilitate the ongoing work of the faculty. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members. |
