Position Summary | The Performance Excellence Strategist is responsible for leading, coordinating, evaluating and ensuring the proper planning and execution of strategic work across the organization. Redesigns care delivery processes in partnership with improvement teams and ensures all projects yield sustained improvement. Promotes a responsive, supportive, and learning environment through the personal demonstration of service excellence orientation, modeling the Franciscan Formation competencies and fulfillment of the core values of HSHS. | | | |
Education | Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Allied Health, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Applied Statistics, or related field is required. | Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Allied Health, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Applied Statistics, or related field is preferred. |
Experience | 1-3 years of experience in quality, continuous improvement, process or performance improvement is required. | 1-3 years of experience in healthcare operations with a focus of informatics, quality, management/leadership, or clinical education is required. | Experience in Project Management, Statistical Process Control, Lean Improvement Methodology, Six Sigma, and/or Systems Simulation is preferred. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB, CSSBB, LSSC; certification from any credentialing body), Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CPM) through Project Management Institute, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) through National Association for Healthcare Quality, or Prosci's Change Management Certification Program (PCCP) or equivalent is preferred. |

Responsibilities | Leverages broad understanding of healthcare operations, patient care, process improvement methodology and project management to ensure work aligns with system strategic objectives and creates value to ensure the organization maintains a long-term advantage. | Redesigns organizational workflows, care delivery processes, strategic programs and initiatives, and ensures proper resource utilization across the system through addressing waste and variability. | Conducts process discovery and definition to ensure a clear understanding of organizational concerns through root cause analysis, data collection and analysis, and observational studies to ensure long-term solution success by developing appropriate milestones and deliverables. | Works in conjunction with various project and program managers, subject matter experts, operational owners, and sponsors throughout the organization to ensure alignment of work and creation of value. | Maintains a productive and transparent communication channel with individuals across the system to include ministry, market, and system leaders and members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT). | Provides continuous improvement coaching and training (including Lean, Six-Sigma, Rapid Cycle Improvement, etc.) to all leaders and colleagues. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality.
