Position Summary | Performs maintenance and troubleshooting duties in the installation, maintenance and repair of the facility's laundry highly automated equipment. Assumes independent responsibility for the overall preventive maintenance of assigned equipment. | | | |

Experience | 3 years of facilities and Mechanical experience is desired. |

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Must understand Facilities and Mechanical Maintenance, Repair, and Trouble shooting | Understand electric and electronics schematics. | Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information. | Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and lift. Must be able to tolerate variable amounts of standing, walking and/or sedentary activity. Must possess manual dexterity to handle and manipulate equipment and appliances. Must rotate different hours, shifts, and/or assigned areas, as well as be called in during emergencies to provide adequate coverage. | Effective communication with colleagues. |
Responsibilities | Makes repairs to electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning units welding and fabricating. | Performs scheduled preventive maintenance as recommended by equipment manufacturer. Conducts scheduled inspections of equipment. Maintains accurate equipment down time log. | Checks and repairs equipment malfunctions. | Makes adjustments in equipment and temperature settings as needed. | Repairs doors, locks, tables, chairs, carts, conveyors and other equipment in the facility as the need arises. Responds immediately to all alarms. | Maintains boilers and compressors as necessary. | Cleans laundry equipment, area worked in, and tools when assignment is completed; returning tools to proper storage area. | Handles all supplies and equipment in such a way as to prevent injury or harm to self and others. Willingly accepts other duties as assigned. | Utilizes lock out-tag out policies each time. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members. |
