Position Summary | Loads and unloads both clean and soiled laundry delivery carts. Sorts, irons, and folds by hand or machine as required. Sorts soiled linen. Sorts, irons, spreads and folds by hand and machine. | | | |
Education | High School Diploma is preferred. | GED or vocational training may be considered in lieu of High School diploma. |

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Demonstrates strong communication and collaboration to work in a team environment working with various personalities. | Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, lift as well as tolerate variable amounts of standing, walking and/or sedentary activity is required. | Must possess manual dexterity to handle and manipulate equipment and appliances. | Must be able to rotate different hours, shifts and/or assigned areas, as well as be called in during emergencies to provide adequate coverage. | Ability to tolerate occasional exposure to moderate environmental variations such as extreme heat and humidity in summer months, above-normal noise levels, and/or unpleasant substances. | May be exposed to hazardous or potentially injurious elements or conditions. | May occasionally be at risk for occupational exposure to chemicals such as disinfectants and soaps. |
Responsibilities | Operates linen equipment such as presses, small washer, ironers, folders, sheet spreaders, and conveyors as required. Folds, stocks, counts, and packages finished goods neatly and accurately. Assists in examining linens and discarding damaged linens per established guidelines. | Cleans, loads and reloads linen carts for reuse to off-site customers. Distributes carts to holding area for delivery. Weighs and records loaded linen carts for distribution. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. | Demonstrates strong communication, and collaboration skills. | Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential. | Abides by all safety requirements including wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)) and demonstrating proper hand hygiene. | Attends required departmental training and meetings. Completes all competencies by deadlines. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline.
