Education | Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field required. | Four years’ experience in Human Resources Generalist role or similar may be considered in lieu of degree. |
Experience | Two years HR Generalist or related experience preferred. | Healthcare experience preferred. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | PHR/SPHR or SCP/CP preferred. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. | Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills. | Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance tight timeframes and various projects. | Demonstrates high commitment to quality. | Articulate and responsive to customer needs. | Excellent customer service skills. |
Responsibilities | Manages colleague relations issues and assists with facilitating resolutions, which may include investigations, disciplinary action, conflict resolution, work life balance, reasonable accommodation requests and EAP program referrals. | Responsible for creating and maintaining positive relationships between service lines and the Human Resources department. | Educates colleagues and leaders on local, federal, and state regulations, company policies and policy changes, leave/disability, and compliance needs. | Partners with the HR Business Partners and HR Centers of Excellence (COE) to align strategies, goals, and objectives of the organization. Serves as a liaison between the business and the HR Centers of Excellence to assess the human resources needs in areas such as performance management, colleague relations, talent acquisition, compensation, and leadership development. | Assists in the development of programs that promote colleague engagement, satisfaction, and retention with the organization. | Conducts or moderates colleague committees, focus groups, or engage/stay interviews. | Handles unemployment claims, including processing and hearings as needed. | Utilizes various computer applications in developing reports to provide audits/analysis on data to department leaders to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. | Supports the Colleague Engagement Survey process, including validation of colleague data for survey purposes. | Partners with the HR Centers of Excellence to ensure all labor poster requirements are current. | Assists with trainings and presentations as needed. | Assist with communicating and messaging HR initiatives within divisions and ministries throughout HSHS. | Partners with the ministry/division on all HR related efforts. Completes research and other special projects as assigned. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members. |
