Position Summary | The Academic Faculty-Adjunct position supports the ongoing implementation of academic nursing programs which are aligned with the college's mission. Academic adjunct nursing faculty members are responsible for providing high-quality education, training, and evaluation to nursing students. Adjunct nursing faculty collaborate on curriculum review, revision, and development in all related educational settings. | | | |
Education | Master’s degree in Nursing is required. | Bachelor’s degree in Nursing plus 5 years nursing experience may be considered in lieu of degree. | Doctoral degree is required for Master’s and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs. |
Experience | 1 year of experience in nursing is required. | Experiences in higher education or clinical education is preferred. | (This experience level is required in addition to the experience that would be required in lieu of education if colleague does not meet Master's Degree requirement.) |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice is required. | Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license is required for master’s Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) track. |

Responsibilities | Delivers lectures, laboratory sessions, and clinical instruction. | Uses technology to enhance learning experiences. | Assesses student performance through clinical evaluations, assignments, and exams. | Maintains accurate records of student progress and provide constructive feedback. | Collaborates with faculty in the development and revision of course and program curricula | Supervises students during clinical practice, internships, and field experiences. | Ensures students apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings. | Works with other faculty members to ensure cohesive and comprehensive education. | Ensures that course content meets academic standards and aligns with program goals. | Develops and update course materials, including syllabi and presentations. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members. |
