Position Summary | Provides clerical and general assistance to facilitate the effective processing and maintenance for the area of assignment. Duties may include a combination of answering telephones, bookkeeping, typing or word processing, office machine operation, and filing. Provides for an organized communication flow and works with highly confidential information. | | | |
Education | Must be enrolled in St. John's College of Nursing and qualify per Federal guidelines. |
Experience | Processes excellent oral communication skills, pleasant disposition and ability to use a computer. |

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. | Provide excellent customer service skills through telephone, personal and/or written communication. | Able to effectively and appropriately prioritize tasks. | Is flexible and adjusts to department needs. | Demonstrates competence in computer systems and applications required for the role. |
Responsibilities | Uses copier, FAX machine, computers, and scanner. | Maintains the department in a neat, clean and orderly manner. | Creates, organizes, sorts, and pulls files for each area. | May be asked to assist with special events. | Must be punctual and maintain satisfactory academic standing of 2.5 G.P.A. | May be required to inventory supplies and materials. | May be required to access electronic material. | Assist with mail and other tasks as needed. | Handle phone inquiries, which will include returning calls and answering the phone (when needed). | Performs data entry and clerical task for each area. | Assists in creating data or merging databases as requested. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members. |
