Position Summary

Oversees activities and provides support within assigned area. Works closely with the director/manager to plan, implement and facilitate the work activity of the unit to accomplish goals and objectives. Assists the management team with colleague actions including, but not limited to, hiring, discipline and corrective action. Assists with the revenue and expense management within the department. Provides input to policy level direction regarding related standards.


Education

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Associate’s degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.

 


Experience

3 years related experience in healthcare, leadership, or clinical coordination is required.

Responsibilities

Maintains, manages and drives the department’s functions.

Assists with departmental budgeting, reviewing and submitting invoices, overseeing colleague hiring and training, scheduling staff, managing supplies and inventory, and creating and evaluating long-term programs and strategy for the department.

Coordinates and follows-up on all initiatives as assigned by department leader.

Schedules activities, delegates responsibilities and provides notification to others as necessary.

Serves as a resource to leaders, peers and colleagues.

Orients, schedules and coordinates staff.

Successfully balances various duties to ensure department efficiency.

Ensures compliance with regulatory, legal and System standards when applicable.

Schedules, participates and maintains documentation of meetings and in-services.

Maintains department databases and reports.

Assists with clerical support such as: answering telephone, organizing papers, entering data, filing and faxing information.


Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed.  Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate.

Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. 

Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality.  Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members.
