Position Summary

Responsible for transporting and transferring patients to and from specific areas in a safe and professional manner.  Provides and maintains a safe, efficient and therapeutic environment for patients.  Provides assistance, as needed, to patients and area staff.

High School diploma or GED is preferred.

One year of experience in transportation of people is preferred.  

Valid Driver’s License is required.

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is preferred.

Strong verbal communication and listening skills.

Effective interpersonal skills.

Assumes personal responsibility for actions.

Friendly and service oriented.

Performs work independently and with minimal supervision.

Drives company vehicle to transport patients.

Assists patients in and out of the vehicle with attention to their safety.

Assists in the daily planning of the routes.

Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior and assure the vehicle is fully gassed at the end of the shift.

Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed.  Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate.

Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. 

Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality.  Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members.
