Position Summary | The Manager-Food Pantry is responsible for managing the daily operations of the food pantry. | | | |
Education | High School Diploma or equivalent is required. | Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline is preferred. |
Experience | 3 years of food pantry or similar experience is required. | 3 years demonstrated leadership experience is required. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Food Handlers' Permit is preferred. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships. Ability to lead others using excellent collaboration and team building skills. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Effectively delivers constructive feedback. Quickly trouble-shoots and resolves problems or escalates appropriately. | Above average time management, organizational and priority setting skills; able to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines. | High attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines with the ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion. | Demonstrates critical thinking skills and initiative to independently manage moderately complex project and multiple priorities. | Ability to forecast, prepare and maintain expenses as well as adhere to budgeted amount. | Maintains current working knowledge and is proficient in area of expertise. |
Responsibilities | Oversees the operation of the food pantry in accordance with food handling policies and procedures. | Works cohesively with staff and volunteers to serve clients in a friendly and courteous manner. | Oversees that food, donated or purchased, is unloaded, sorted, and stored in its designated location. May assist donors with bringing in donations. | Works with local agencies for referral and cooperative efforts. Assists with local food drives, donations etc. | Maintains files and tracks donations. Manages an effective registration and intake process to ensure quality and confidentiality of both donor and guest information and documentation. | Assist clients in selection of food items and carrying out items. | Maintains a high level of knowledge on community resources and overall needs. |
Leads a team of colleagues in human resource initiatives including but not limited to; performance management; education and development; selection and retention; workforce planning; coaching and counseling; and supporting activities that promote colleague engagement and satisfaction. | Leads or supports the financial resource functions including but not limited to; managing expenses; preparing, monitoring and executing within limits of the budget; monitors productivity standards; manages the purchasing process and all decisions related to the finances for the area of responsibility. | Leads or supports change and process improvement initiatives including but not limited to; strives for standard, efficient and value-added processes; communicates a clear vision; influences and motivates others; and develops strong relationships with key stakeholders. |
