Position Summary

This position supports all clinical and administrative staff in their reporting needs, data structures, and system build/customization. This role will serve as a reporting resource for one or more Epic reporting tool and data models.  Under the direction of an Epic Business Intelligence Developer III, this role will define report requirements, and design, develop, test, and implement report-based programs.


Education

Bachelor's degree in Clinical, Informatics, Computer Science, Business or related field is required.

High School diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in report writing, Epic or related experience may be accepted in lieu of Associate's degree.


Experience

One to two years of report writing, Epic or related experience is required. 


Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Epic certification or accreditation in Cogito, Clarity Data Model, and one of the reporting domains (Access Data, Clinical Data, Revenue Data) is required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.

Excellent analytic and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Across one Epic data model, develops basic to intermediate customized reports and collects data to be used and displayed to meet customer needs.

Under supervision, assists in addressing reporting errors or issues after implementation.  Follows change management and documentation processes. 

With assistance as needed, collaborates with requestors to define report requirements and data output.

Monitors the Service Now ticket queue and assigns tickets appropriately.  Ensures the appropriate documentation and communication is completed for each Service Now ticket or project.  Under supervision, assists with Epic support ticket review.

Under supervision, provides security team with required additions and updates to end user reporting security and access. 

Assists with ensuring the data integrity and ongoing quality control of delivered reports.

Assists in validating system build and report designs.

Assists with the maintenance and optimization of existing report performance and reusability. 

Assists in completion of upgrade tasks.

Demonstrates a basic understanding of the multiple reporting environments and technical structure.


Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed.  Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate.

Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. 

Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality.  Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members.
