Position Summary | The Manager-Security provides safety and security services to ensure the well-being of both people and property. This role is responsible for the Environment of Care relating to Safety and Security, and has an active role on the Fire Response Team. | | | |
Education | Bachelor’s degree in business administration, cybersecurity, information systems, or related field is required. | High School Diplomas plus 5 years security experience may be considered in lieu of degree. |
Experience | 2 years of security experience is required. | 3 years of progressively more responsible leadership experience is required. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 90 days of hire. | Valid driver’s license and insurable in order to operate HSHS vehicles is preferred. | Encourage membership with International Association of Healthcare Safety & Security (IAHSS) and or ASIS International. A certification from either organization is a plus. |

Responsibilities | Maintains an active role on the Fire Response Team. Assists in the maintenance of the Environment of Care standards relating to Safety and Security. | Responsible for coordination of orientation, training, education and competency assessment of colleagues. | Assists with establishment of goals and objectives for improving outcomes. | Creates processes and assign responsibilities to ensure compliance and documentation is in place for: Fire drills; Eye wash station inspections; Risk assessments; Fire extinguisher inspections; Environmental tours; Other compliance areas as assigned. | Participates in quality improvement initiatives through data collection and/or performance monitoring. | Builds awareness of service improvement initiatives. | Actively solicit and listen to others’ ideas and concerns and respond in an appropriate manner. Addresses any daily operational issues and problem solves as required. | Assists patients and visitors into the building and/or to their vehicles. Assists coworkers with violent or disorderly patients and visitors. Assists law enforcement agencies with suspects, prisoners, and other items as requested. | Responds to all codes and alarms immediately. | Compiles a running service log and complete paperwork prior to the end of shift. | Monitors security cameras during shifts and as time permits. Continually monitor campus for items needing corrective action. Monitors property on a regular basis. Monitors doors in accordance to lock patrol schedule.
