Position Summary | The Manager-Facilities plans and directs operations of Facilities, including building and grounds maintenance, plant engineering, safety and facilities planning. Assists in the management of the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities. Plans and allocates resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet productivity and quality goals. | | | |
Education | Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field required. | High School diploma plus 5 years of experience as an electrician, HVAC technician, or a related field may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. |
Experience | 5 years of maintenance experience is required, preferably in healthcare. | 3 years demonstrated leadership experience is required. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Certified Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (CIMM) preferred. | Certification in a trade field such as (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Electronics, Clinical Engineering) is preferred. | State certification under Mechanic Evaluation and Certification for Healthcare (MECH) or American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) is preferred. | Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) certification is preferred. | Basic knowledge of construction procedures, including Interim Life Safety Measure (ILSM) is preferred. |

Responsibilities | Plans new maintenance services to minimize costs. Reviews service contracts or agreements for cost effectiveness, content and applicability. Handles all initial vendors and sales representatives. Analyzes, estimates and coordinates maintenance and minor construction work, cost and time required for installation. | Schedules and plans maintenance and necessary shutdowns of equipment including repairs and preventative maintenance, utilities, electrical safety, calibration, incoming inspections and performance assurance. | Maintains consistent effective communication through daily interaction/observation of work performance. Communicates policies and procedures as appropriate. | Maintains service history of equipment and utilities. Requests supplies, replacement parts and equipment as needed. Recommends replacement of equipment which has reached the end of its useful life. Investigates incident reports involving physical plant equipment. Evaluate safety and operating effectiveness of all equipment | Combines and reports data, playing an active part in the Environment of Care Committee. | Develops and recommends operating budgets and assures the operations within that budget. Reviews proposed capital equipment budget for area of responsibility. Helps monitor daily revenue sheets and invoices for accuracy. | Coordinates creation of the schedule and approving adjustments. Assists with in-service training on equipment as required. Provides technical assistance to staff as required. |
