Position Summary

Provides leadership and operational oversight for the ministries within a regional market. Responsible for operations and partnerships with the communities in which we serve in partnership with the ministry CEO, CNO and CMO. Partners with Corporate Shared Services for business, Legal, IT, HR and Finance for business strategies and support.


Education

Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, management, finance or related field is required.


Experience

7 years leadership experience role in a hospital or health system, multi-specialty group practice and/or integrated delivery system is required.


Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Fellowship status in American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Recommends annual and long-range plans, strategies and budgets for optimum operation of HSHS marketto support overall key strategies, goals, objectives and organizational plans. Establishes goals and performance criteria, and measures performance on a regular basis.

Collaborates with hospital leaders and physician leaders to develop an environment conducive to collaboration and strategic alignment between the various departments within the market, leveraging the system’s diversity and provision of shared services; promotes widespread sharing of resources and information across the system with other ministries at HSHS.

Ensures HSHS ministry achieves and maintains a competitive position within the health care industry. Collaborates with other HSHS leaders to create care models that decrease unwanted clinical variation, reduce cost of care and increase access.

Creates culture and environment that attracts, motivates, develops and retains qualified leaders. Builds and maintains collaborative relationships and integrates various perspectives in strategic and operational decision-making.

Manages and is held accountable for the performance of assigned departments in achieving its strategic, operational and financial goals and implements interventions if needed.

Ensures continuous improvement in the quality and value of the services provided by HSHS ministry.  Ensures that the HSHS market activities and operations are carried out in compliance with standards, regulations, and laws governing health care organizations.

Fosters and engages in positive relationships with corporate shared services teams and other entities in hospitals as well as system areas; collaborates well and strives for solutions that are in the best interest of the entire HSHS organization focusing on both short-term and long-term, value-based results.


Leads a team of colleagues in human resource initiatives including but not limited to; performance management; education and development; selection and retention; workforce planning; coaching and counseling; and supporting activities that promote colleague engagement and satisfaction. 

Leads or supports the financial resource functions including but not limited to; managing expenses; preparing, monitoring and executing within limits of the budget; monitors productivity standards; manages the purchasing process and all decisions related to the finances for the area of responsibility. 

Leads or supports change and process improvement initiatives including but not limited to; strives for standard, efficient and value-added processes; communicates a clear vision; influences and motivates others; and develops strong relationships with key stakeholders.
