Position Summary

The Coordinator-Clinical Digital Learning administrates online educational platforms used for clinical colleagues across the HSHS system. The Clinical Digital Learning Coordinator develops, maintains, and evaluates online education content and modalities to ensure effective and efficient use of resources. This role leads the efforts to create innovative education solutions using sound instructional design methodologies, current technologies and effective project management to meet organizational product development goals.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.

4 years working in a clinical healthcare setting is required.

2 years of education and/or training development experience is preferred.

Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice is required. Wisconsin:  RNs may practice with a valid multi-state RN license as outlined in the Nurse Licensure Compact rules. 

Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision and balance multiple projects while working constructively in a team environment.

Superior interpersonal, writing and communication skills enabling interfaces with all levels of organization and client stakeholders.

Possess technical expertise in authoring tools and multiple instructional design platforms preferred.

Collaborates with system learning development team to ensure quality standards are met on all projects.

Contributes to and applies a documented maintenance and enhancement framework, leveraging learning management systems and online learning mechanisms to ensure strong focus on continuous improvement, achievement of quality goals and validity of learning content.

Assists in converting training materials into interactive e-Learning tools comprised of text, video, and other multimedia elements using programs such as Articulate, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.

Gathers knowledge from subject matter experts and other available resources to ensure validity of learning content.

Supports the testing and adjusting of the training materials to correct any technical problems or content issues.

Makes student assignments and assists in monitoring compliance and sharing progress on a designated schedule.

Evaluates the success of training programs in terms of learning outcomes, performance change and business impact.

Leads and manages the analysis, planning, design, development and implementation of online education initiatives in alignment with strategic and operational goals.

Stays abreast of the latest trends and best-practices in the eLearning and instructional design community in order to enhance and expand on training objects and deliverables.

Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed.  Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate.

Reduces the risk of healthcare acquired infections through compliance with current CDC hand hygiene guidelines and facility policies including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable.  Utilizes standard precautions during patient contact and when handling contaminated materials.  Demonstrates compliance with National Patient Safety Goals.

Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality.  Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline.  Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains excellent interpersonal communication with the health care team colleagues.

Emphasizes a holistic approach to patient care-attending to body, mind, and spirit while upholding ethical principles with patient care and all other aspects of work.  Actively involves the patient and family in decisions about care.  Promotes quality care by participating in organizational councils/committees and/or support of related process.  Documents services provided to patients in the electronic medical record in accordance with policy and requirements.
