Position Summary | Manages and coordinates all logistics and inventory management requirements to support the acquisition and delivery of materials, supplies and equipment. Assists in oversight and leadership within assigned area of responsibility. Duties may include: assists in the management of the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities; plans and allocates resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet productivity and quality goals; makes business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures; reviews performance data that includes quality, satisfaction, engagement, and financial reports; monitors and measures productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness; participates in the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the area of responsibility; prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track goal accomplishment; leads colleagues using performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage colleague contribution. Primary duty includes managing department and regularly directing the work of at least two or more employees. Supervisory authority includes authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, responsibly direct or adjust grievances. | | | |
Education | Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required. | Master’s degree in business or a related field is preferred. | Five (5) years of supply chain experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. |
Experience | 5 years of supply chain distribution experience is required. | 2 years of progressively more responsible leadership experience or equivalent is required. | This experience level is required in addition to the experience required in lieu of education if a colleague does not meet the position’s degree requirement. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Certified Materials and Resource Professional Certification (CMRP) is preferred. |

Responsibilities | Serves as a professional mentor and coach for colleagues. | Advises, develops, orients, trains, and provides direction to staff. | Provides leadership to assigned staff, identifying competencies and promoting training/education and growth opportunities. | Provides on-site assistance to Supply Chain leadership to identify the needs in the acquisition of supplies and capital equipment. | Researches and identifies facility requirements, such as power, structural and/or information technology requirements, required for the purchase and installation of capital purchases. | Remains an active member of appropriate divisional committees coordinating contract implementation, supply/product changes in conjunction with the Contract Specialists. | Ensures that departmental activity conforms with established codes and applicable standards. | Develops statistical data and reports for administrative and regulatory purposes. | Manages the storeroom related to all phases of product receipt, storage and distribution activities. | Analyzes inventory reports and surplus/slow-moving inventory lists to determine the need for improvement in control methods and directs the initiation of corrective measures to restore satisfactory inventory balance and investment. | Complies with regulatory agency standards and preparation for site visits. | Addresses customer needs and responds to customer concerns, identifying ways to improve customer relations. | Consults with colleagues to identify quality and process improvement opportunities. | Assists in the care and maintenance of equipment and supplies. | Holds meetings as appropriate to share information. | Communicates policies and procedures as appropriate. | Maintains consistent effective communication through daily interaction/observation of work performance. | May manage financial resources which may include; preparation and monitoring of the annual budget; management of the productivity standards; purchasing processes; and decisions related to unit finances. | May manage human resource functions including but not limited to; performance management; education and development; recruitment and selection; coaching and counseling; and supporting activities that promote colleague engagement and satisfaction. | Reviews operating policies and procedures and recommends changes that will improve productivity and improve quality of care. |
