Position Summary | The Supply Chain Technician handles receiving, organization, and distribution of supplies and equipment throughout the hospital. This includes review of product accuracy, par level tracking, and response to replenishment needs. | | | |
Education | High School Diploma or equivalent is required. | 3-5 years of experience in supply chain, business, or related field may be considered in lieu of a diploma or equivalent. |
Experience | 2 years of experience in Supply Chain, Healthcare, or related field is preferred. |

Responsibilities | Verifies shipment, notes damages, overages, and shortages, completes receiving documentation within the inventory software and may use equipment such as pallet jacks. | Picks, stocks, and/or delivers supplies as requisitioned by par level or department. This may include delivering to off-site locations at some facilities. | Communicates out of stocks and other inventory concerns with supervisor and designated colleagues of all affected areas using appropriate software. | Performs warehouse duties including rotating stock, cycle counting, breaking down boxes, and cleaning (storerooms, warehouses, and work areas) and following hospital policy for monitoring supply outdates. | Notifies appropriate party of discrepancies and items to be returned. | Prepares packages and create shipping paperwork for outgoing shipments as required. | Manages the asset tagging of equipment per hospital policy as required. | Reviews and approves inventory supply requisition as required. | Maintains information and updates inventory management system and par carts with necessary changes. | Performs mobile par counting for creation of supply replenishment pick lists. | Confirms and closes all pick lists to maintain accurate inventory levels. | Handles emergent supply requests from departments as they arise. | Assists with mail room duties including sorting of incoming mail, processing outgoing mail, and delivering mail throughout the hospital and/or off-site facilities as applicable. | Sets up new department par locations as required. | Rents, tracks and returns rental equipment as required. | Cleans equipment such as IV pumps, commodes, and other patient equipment; assembles patient care items as needed. |
Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed. Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate. | Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. | Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality. Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members. |
