Position Summary | The Manager–Marketing Core Service Lines develops and executes integrated consumer marketing strategies designed to achieve brand awareness and volume growth across core regional service lines for HSHS ministries system-wide, as well as Physician Enterprise. Through the day-to-day management of marketing department colleagues, processes, budgets, and campaigns, this position leads the efforts for the Core Service Lines in Illinois. | | | |
Education | Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field is required. | Associates degree in English, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or related field and 3 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, advertising, or public relations may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. |
Experience | 5 years’ experience in marketing, communications, advertising, or public relations is required. This is in addition to the experience required in lieu of the education requirement. | 3 years of progressively more responsible leadership experience is required. | 3 years of strategy development experience is preferred. | 3 years of experience in a healthcare system marketing department is preferred. |

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Experience in developing and executing integrated marketing and communications strategies for health care service lines. Exercises independent judgment, initiative, and discretion. | Proven success working with service line leaders and system business development and key leaders at individual ministries. | Strong knowledge of creative production, marketing automation, vendor negotiation, and evolving media landscape. Understanding of web and IT platforms and ability to engage in evolving technologies. Strong analytical skills and decision-making skills. | Experience in co-production of creative and collaborating with external ad agencies and other vendors to ensure brand consistency. | Experience in managing people and processes and use of leadership abilities to positively influence decisions. | Cultivates and maintains positive and collaborative working relationships with team members, internal business partners and external stakeholders. | Change management expertise. Strong organization skills. Project management entailing multiple stakeholders. Excellent listening and verbal and written communication skills. |
Responsibilities | Manages execution of HSHS assigned service line marketing campaigns, including multimedia advertising, publications, direct mail, and other tactics, ensuring campaigns align with system business strategies and service line strategic goals and integrate with overall brand awareness and growth initiatives. | Provides day-to-day leadership to team members. Collaborates with members of the Creative/Production, Communications/PR and Digital Engagement teams to deliver integrated marketing campaigns with measurable outcomes. | Serves as strategic advisor to internal clients and service lines. Rounds frequently to ensure in-depth understanding of objectives and how marketing will contribute to organizational success. | Adheres to budget, cost accounting and tracking of expenses to ensure fiscal stewardship. Creates and shares reports related to campaign effectiveness, implementing tactics to improve ROI (return on investment). Uses evidence-based practices to measure and improve campaigns. | Manages the day-to-day operations for consumer marketing campaigns and promotion, ensuring integration with overall departmental and system marketing initiatives and in collaboration with advertising agencies and internal creative services. |
Leads a team of colleagues in human resource initiatives including but not limited to; performance management; education and development; selection and retention; workforce planning; coaching and counseling; and supporting activities that promote colleague engagement and satisfaction. | Leads or supports the financial resource functions including but not limited to; managing expenses; preparing, monitoring and executing within limits of the budget; monitors productivity standards; manages the purchasing process and all decisions related to the finances for the area of responsibility. | Leads or supports change and process improvement initiatives including but not limited to; strives for standard, efficient and value-added processes; communicates a clear vision; influences and motivates others; and develops strong relationships with key stakeholders. |
