Position Summary | System Manager–System Integration manages, supports, and implements integration, interface systems and application development for Hospital Sisters Health System from design phase through post-implementation support. This role is responsible for leading, mentoring, and supporting the Interface Programmers. The expectation for this role is to serve as both a business leader and a technologist with a vision for how IT (Information Technology) can enable productivity and efficiency for the enterprise. | | | |
Education | Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field is required. | High School Diploma or equivalent plus five years of relevant experience in programming, networking, IT architecture, or other related information technology field may be accepted in lieu of a degree. |
Experience | Five (5) years of experience in programming integration systems is required, preferably in healthcare. (This experience level is required in addition to the experience that would be required in lieu of education if colleague does not meet bachelor’s degree requirement). | Three (3) years of progressively responsible leadership experience is required. |
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations | Interface Engine certification is preferred. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Possess knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, Windows operating systems, High Availability architecture, and hardware configuration strategies. | Ability to communicate and build business relationships with all clinical and business departments. Ability to understand the needs of the departments, promoting information sharing. | Possess strong knowledge of HL7 message structures, XML, FHIR, advanced interface concepts, and complex interface engine architecture, design, support, TCP/IP networking, web services, database programming, and database design. | Ability to mentor and lead others to be an effective team. Instills commitment to organizational goals. Effective leadership skills. | Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills. Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion. | Demonstrates excellent judgement and decision-making skills. Excellent organizational skills. Responsibilities | Trains, leads, and provides technical guidance to professional and technical staff assigned to design, develop, program, maintenance, documentation, and support of integration and interfaces between ancillary applications and hospital information systems. Manages the work of technology department staff. | Procures, installs, tests up-to-date hardware, operating systems, software versions, and programs features/modules for System Integration systems throughout HSHS | Defines and develops IT Product line staff and development team members to provide high quality service and application solutions. Continuously evaluates staff and creates a go forward organizational strategy. | Manages 24X7 operation of complete application & Data portfolio tools/platforms ensuring SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met. | Communicates and coordinates with various HSHS departments on system needs, identifies the appropriate staff resources for projects based on knowledge, skill, and workload and assigns projects accordingly. Designs and creates and/or directs others in the design and creation of complex software to accomplish business goals. | Stays up to date with recent technology and reporting information to the executive team. | Develops ad hoc reporting and maintaining historical reports. | Develops strategies for system upgrades and transition planning. | Provides technical and functional supervision of contractors/vendors. |
