Position Summary

The Market Director-Rehabilitation Services provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activities within the regional service line with objective of maximizing quality, growth, fiscal responsibility, and profitability. Works in collaboration with local and shared services leadership in the areas of: operations; strategic planning; service development and marketing; stakeholder service, system standardization, quality, patient safety and throughput. Directs, supervises, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates clinical and operational activities of rehabilitation services leadership ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and fiscal responsibility of rehab throughout the market ministries and outpatient services locations.


Education

Graduate (e.g., Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate) from an accredited program which meets the licensure requirements in the state of practice for disciplines under the umbrella of rehabilitation services or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) with applicable experience.


Experience

5 years of rehabilitation services experience is required.

 

3 years of rehabilitation services leadership experience is required.

 


Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Licensed as a Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT) or Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

Effectively builds teams across the market ensuring that all colleagues' talents are utilized appropriately and are supported. Inventories talent and resources across area of responsibility within market to make certain resources are appropriately allocated.

Monitors and accomplishes financial and clinical performance metrics that successfully support viability of the service line.

Plans, develops, and maintains rehabilitation services to better meet physician and patient needs, while keeping expenses to the minimum necessary for optimal patient care.

Responsible for all rehabilitation services-related operations conducted conducted across the market according to hospital and department procedures, federal and state laws and regulations, licensing and accreditation standards to minimize legal liability and assure licensure and accreditation.

Develops and implements policies and procedures across hospitals and outpatient clinics within market to ensure consistency and efficiency. Assists with revising standards of care for rehabilitation services when necessary.

Works collaboratively with market administration, medical staff, and leadership teams to ensure safe and effective delivery of rehabilitation services.

Executes on recruitment and retention strategies by fostering a collaborative and participatory engagement strategy to successfully develop high-performing teams.

Leads the development, monitoring, and evaluation of quality improvement efforts within rehabilitation services markets.

Participates in coordination of clinical learning experiences of students.

Complies with regulatory standards and professional practice requirements.

Conducts meetings with managers on a routine basis and attends other scheduled meetings as appropriate.

Assists in the care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Maintains consistent effective communication through daily interaction/observation of work performance.


Leads a team of colleagues in human resource initiatives including but not limited to; performance management; education and development; selection and retention; workforce planning; coaching and counseling; and supporting activities that promote colleague engagement and satisfaction. 

Leads or supports the financial resource functions including but not limited to; managing expenses; preparing, monitoring and executing within limits of the budget; monitors productivity standards; manages the purchasing process and all decisions related to the finances for the area of responsibility. 

Leads or supports change and process improvement initiatives including but not limited to; strives for standard, efficient and value-added processes; communicates a clear vision; influences and motivates others; and develops strong relationships with key stakeholders.
