Position Summary | The Director-Financial Aid is responsible for the strategic leadership, compliance oversight, and operational management of all student financial aid programs at St. John's College of Nursing. This position plays a critical role in supporting the College's mission to improve access to nursing education by ensuring students receive timely, equitable, and accurate financial assistance. The Director serves as the chief compliance officer for Title IV programs and state aid regulations, oversees the development and execution of financial aid policies, and ensures the integrity and transparency of financial aid processes. In collaboration with admissions, business services, and academic affairs, the Director contributes to institutional enrollment, retention, and student success goals. The position also leads initiatives in financial literacy, student debt management, and continuous improvement, ensuring a student-centered approach that aligns with the College's values of service, excellence, and accountability. | | | |
Education | Bachelor’s degree in education, finance, business, or related field is required. |

Strong time management and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. | Comprehensive understanding of Title IV regulations, federal and state financial aid guidelines, FERPA, and accreditation requirements. Experience with financial aid management systems (e.g., Jenzabar Financial Aid, Workday, or similar) and standard office software. | Demonstrated commitment to student-centered service and proactive support in resolving issues and concerns. Ability to lead with empathy, fairness, and consistency in dealing with colleagues, student concerns, and conduct. |
Responsibilities | Administers all federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid programs. | Ensures full compliance with Title IV, FERPA, and state/federal financial aid regulations. | Provide leadership, training, and supervision for financial aid staff and operations. | Evaluates student eligibility and oversee the awarding and disbursement of aid. | Develops and enforces financial aid policies and procedures in alignment with regulations. | Monitors and reconciles financial aid accounts and prepare necessary financial reports. | Collaborates with admissions, business office, and academic advising to support student success. | Counsels students and families on financial aid options, processes, and financial literacy. | Manages annual audit preparations and required federal/state reporting (e.g., FISAP, IPEDS). | Leads financial aid presentations during orientation, recruitment, and retention events. | Serves on institutional committees and contributes to strategic enrollment and retention planning. |
Leads a team of colleagues in human resource initiatives including but not limited to; performance management; education and development; selection and retention; workforce planning; coaching and counseling; and supporting activities that promote colleague engagement and satisfaction. | Leads or supports the financial resource functions including but not limited to; managing expenses; preparing, monitoring and executing within limits of the budget; monitors productivity standards; manages the purchasing process and all decisions related to the finances for the area of responsibility. | Leads or supports change and process improvement initiatives including but not limited to; strives for standard, efficient and value-added processes; communicates a clear vision; influences and motivates others; and develops strong relationships with key stakeholders. |
