Position Summary

The Strategic Sourcing Analyst is responsible for research and analysis to support the centralized management of HSHS's strategic sourcing initiatives and contract administration. Evaluates financial impact of new equipment and/or consumable proposals from physicians and clinical operations leaders in conjunction with finance leaders.  Identifies opportunities for cost savings and supports Strategic Sourcing colleagues and service line committees in negotiation and execution of new contract terms.  Monitors system and local contract compliance and coordinates with operational leaders to ensure rebate and optimal price opportunities are realized. 


Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field is required.

High School Diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of related supply chain, materials management or health care related experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.


Experience

2 years of Supply Chain experience is required.

2 years of Buyer experience is required.

Experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel is required.

Experience developing reports using data to support the planning and decisions is required.

Experience providing recommendations using data to support is required.

Demonstrates ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple strategic sourcing projects, procurement activities, supplier negotiations, and data analysis tasks under tight deadlines.

Capable of shifting focus quickly in response to changing business needs, market dynamics, and organizational objectives while maintaining a high level of accuracy and performance.

Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of supply chain analytics and sourcing activities, including vendor evaluation, contract analysis, cost modeling, and compliance with procurement policies.

Skilled in identifying data inconsistencies, tracking procurement metrics, and ensuring that sourcing documentation and reporting are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

Proven capability to manage large volumes of strategic sourcing and procurement transactions during high-pressure periods such as calendar and fiscal year-end.

Able to ensure timely processing of purchase requisitions, vendor contracts, spend analysis, and budget alignment, while maintaining compliance with internal controls and financial deadlines.

Demonstrated excellence in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Adept at building and maintaining strong partnerships with internal teams (e.g., Finance, Legal, Clinical, and IT) and external suppliers. Skilled in facilitating strategic sourcing initiatives, gathering requirements, leading vendor discussions, and fostering transparency and trust across departments.


Responsibilities

Assists in the preparation, analysis, presentation and defense findings for any potential capital acquisitions (including lease vs. buy decisions), projects, and new services.

Assists in the evaluation of yearly budgets and identifies group purchase opportunities.

Develops and produces Management Reports as required/requested, providing analysis/support to administrators, directors, and others as directed or required, to assist in the efficient and cost-effective operation.

Researches and provides resolution of issues arising from contracts coordination.

Works with vendors, local system staff and account representatives to clarify contract tier access, contract price effective date and conflicts between representatives and local contracts.  Assists in the documentation of cost savings from the implementation of contracts.

Prepares operating pro-forma for proposed new services/projects and capital as required.

Serves as a super user and trainer for the Value Analysis Workflow and related systems.

Assists in evaluation, implementation, and ongoing support of new supply chain technology solutions.

Assists in the preparation and ongoing monitoring of the Strategic Sourcing work plan.

Understands financial operations and works with all levels of assigned areas, including finance, and clinical management and colleagues to ensure the accuracy of the analysis.

Contacts vendors, obtains quotes, and utilizes pricing analysis programs and reports data back to applicable stakeholders.


Possess the information, skill, and understanding of the work to be performed.  Actively participates in continuing education opportunities and maintains certifications, licensure as appropriate.

Abides by all safety requirements including demonstrating proper hand hygiene and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), if applicable. 

Complies with all standards, policies and procedures including dress code, attendance and punctuality.  Attends required in-services and meetings and completes all mandatory competencies by deadline. Commits to keeping all patient, student or colleague information confidential and maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members.
