Position Summary

The Supervisor–Epic & IT Training provides leadership and oversight for the Epic and IT Training team. This role supervises a team of training specialists who design, configure, and deliver training related to Epic and Workday applications. The Supervisor-Epic and IT Training ensures system stability, data accuracy, compliance with regulations, and alignment with organizational priorities while fostering a collaborative and service-oriented team culture.


Education

Associate’s degree in Clinical, Informatics, Computer Science, Business or related field is required.

High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical, hospital/ambulatory business office environment or related experience may be accepted in lieu of an Associate’s degree.


Experience

5 years of Epic Principle Trainer or related experience is required. (This experience level is required in addition to the experience that would be required in lieu of education if colleague does not meet the Associate’s degree requirement.)

1 year of progressively more responsible leadership experience is required.


Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

Epic certification or accreditation as an Epic Principle Trainer is required or must be obtained within six (6) months.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven experience with adult learning principles and methodologies and course design techniques.

Ability to lead and manage others effectively with a high level of emotional intelligence.

Ability to provide ongoing coaching (meaningful feedback) and mentoring to aid in the development needs of colleagues.

Ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities while maintaining focus on critical priorities to achieve outstanding results.

Strong computer skills and ability to work with multiple software applications.  (Ex: TEAMS, Outlook, Sharepoint, Excel, Word, Service Now, PWA, Epic, Workday )


Responsibilities

Maintains consistent and effective communication through daily interaction/observation of work performance, holds meetings as appropriate to share information, and communicates policies and procedures as appropriate.

Manages tracking of items to help assign, prioritize, and oversee daily tasks, project work, and support requests.

Partners with operational leaders to align training initiatives with organizational strategy.

Supervises, mentors, and evaluates Training specialists, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.

Ensures training materials are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with organizational goals.

Ensures quality standards and compliance are met by staying current with learning trends, methods, and technology to recommend innovative approaches.

Participates in workgroups related to Epic and Workday to help improve workflows, resolve issues, communicate requirements, project status, and solutions.

Escalates items lacking appropriate attention including projects, issues, vendor and/or operational challenges.

Assists with project management and provides project coordination, support, analysis and training.


Leads a team of colleagues in human resource initiatives including but not limited to; performance management; education and development; selection and retention; workforce planning; coaching and counseling; and supporting activities that promote colleague engagement and satisfaction. 

Leads or supports the financial resource functions including but not limited to; managing expenses; preparing, monitoring and executing within limits of the budget; monitors productivity standards; manages the purchasing process and all decisions related to the finances for the area of responsibility. 

Leads or supports change and process improvement initiatives including but not limited to; strives for standard, efficient and value-added processes; communicates a clear vision; influences and motivates others; and develops strong relationships with key stakeholders.
